Mr. Breece's 5th grade class is currently involved in the Unit of Inquiry, I've Got the Power.  We are investigating renewable and nonrenewable energy sources and the impact they have on the environment.

 

In Math we recently completed a unit on Time and are currently studying fractions.

 

In Writing, they are working on publishing - a fictional story.

 

During Reading, Mr. Breece’s class is learning how to use various reading strategies to increase understanding and enjoyment of various genres of books, as well as writing about thinking while reading.  Through the use of weekly reading journals, students are given the opportunity to react and reflect on what they are reading, while supporting their ideas with evidence from the text.
