Our class is a combination of twelve Grade 1 and five Grade 2 students with Eritrean, Korean, Ghanaian, Italian, Spanish and American nationalities.
In Science and Social Studies, the 1st and 2nd graders have learned how all things on our planet are connected. We learned about Earth and how it relates to the sun, moon and planets in the solar system.
We also learned about pollution and how harmful it is for the environment. The 1st and 2nd graders agreed that we need to keep the air, land and water clean for people, plants and animals.
To bring it all together, we learned about the continents and oceans that cover our planet.
We will soon start talking about the compass points and maps.
